AN URGENT warning has been issued for two hair products sold on eBay due to a “serious risk” of electric shock.
The warning are for the 2-in-1 Negative-ion Hair Straightener and the Curling Styling Comb.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission warned that the products presents a “serious risk of electric shock”
The hair products, with temperature control, come in a black version or silver.
Both are in a silver packaged boxed.
The body warned that they do not comply with the requirements of the relevant safety standard.


The model number is HA808 and the eBay item number is 384841347618.
But the brand and batch number are unknown.
Anyone who has these items are advised to stop using them immediately.
A spokesperson from the CCPC said: “Given the online availability of this product on the eBay platform, it may have been sold to customers in the Republic of Ireland.

“If you purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and discard the product.
“You may wish to contact the eBay seller to see if there are any remedies available to you.
“This can be done via your user account on the relevant platform.”
Meanwhile, Irish parents have been warned over a drowning risk associated with a baby flotation device.
The product was sold at popular retailer Decathalon.
The Nabaiji Baby Lying Ring has been recalled.
The brand is Nabaiji. The model numbers are 8752138, 8752140, 8752139. The bar codes are 3583787258873, 3583787258972, 3583787182925. The batch numbers are unknown.
The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission said the ring carries a risk of drowning.
The CCPC said: “The risk associated with the product is of drowning.
“There is a possibility of the buoy overturning and as the child is tied to the product, their head could remain underwater causing them to drown.”
Around 106 of the products were sold in Ireland, between February 1 and June 23 of this year.
Parents have been urged to stop using the items immediately.
The CCPC said: “If you have purchased one of these products, please discontinue use immediately and keep it out of the reach of children.


“Customers can return their product to their nearest Decathlon Store for a full refund.
“For more information regarding this recall please contact Decathlon’s Customer Relation Centre via the email help.ireland@decathlon.com.”
